It is a privilege to serve as the Principal of Evergreen Junior High, a school with a well-deserved reputation for high expectations, academic excellence, and a positive, safe environment in which to learn and grow. We strive to inspire in students a lifelong love of learning and a desire for continual self-development.
The middle school years are an exciting transitional period between elementary and high school experiences. Middle schools are grounded on the concept of recognizing and addressing the diverse characteristics and needs of our young people. Middle school years provide opportunities to explore many different interests while expanding skills and discovering personal strengths. We hope that each and every one of you will be a part of the activities that are offered here at EJHS, either as a participant or a spectator. We consider this our second home and hope you will too!
Our dedicated, caring staff is committed to promoting a positive school and community climate for all students' academic, social, emotional, and behavioral growth. We look forward to partnering with families in continuing to shape a safe, challenging, and nurturing school that is full of life, energy, and productivity.
The 2022-2023 school year brings much excitement to Evergreen Junior High as we welcome nine new staff members to our family. Starting as you walk in the door, Ms. Hendrix will welcome you with a smile and support your needs from the office. Joining us in fifth grade are Ms. Inabnit (a former student at EJHS) and Mrs. Dorcheus. Both bring a great passion to the classroom and will help all students feel welcome. Joining our sixth-grade team, Mrs. McAchran is excited about her new Montana adventure and will bring the love of learning alive. In our special education programs, we welcome Mrs. Huerta and Mrs. Mayhew. Their expertise will help our students strive for excellence. Mrs. Cortez will be our new school counselor. She is here to support all students as they maneuver their way through middle school. And finally, Mr. Thompson will join us as our new behavior specialist, supporting the success of all students throughout the building.
We encourage questions or concerns that arise throughout the school year, please feel free to contact your child’s teacher, our office staff, or me personally. I hope that each student will have an enjoyable, rewarding, and positive experience at Evergreen Junior High.
