Welcome Back!

I hope you had and an enjoyable summer creating lasting memories with those you love. As we look forward to 2021-2022 school year, I hope our families and staff are feeling recharged and ready to start a new school year. I am delighted that you are a part of our amazing learning community. I welcome and value your positive energy and dedication to excellence in education, and I look forward to working with you and your children.

It is an honor and privilege to serve as the Principal of East Evergreen Elementary, a school with a highly qualified, dedicated, and caring staff that are committed to promoting a positive school and community climate for all students' academic, social, emotional, and behavioral growth. We look forward to partnering with families in creating high expectations, academic excellence in a safe and positive environment in which our students learn and grow.

As we prepare to begin another successful school year, we are still very mindful of the COVID-19 virus and its impact on our communities. However, we are also hopeful that we will have a more traditional school experience this year. With that goal in mind, we want to update you on our current plans, realizing that our plans may need to change based upon school and community needs.

As of June 9th, 2021 Evergreen School District moved into Phase III of our School Reopening Guidelines. Phase III makes face coverings at the discretion of each individual and supports a layered approach to COVID-19 mitigation efforts. Please check our District website, Evergreensd50.com, for continued updates.

We remain focused on our mission to enable students to become responsible citizens and lifelong learners by ensuring quality instruction in a nurturing environment. We are hopeful that our plan will provide an appropriate level of safety and respect within our school community while allowing for a return to a more traditional school year. We are grateful for the support and respect our community has shown throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. We look forward to our continued partnership, and we thank you for your continued support in the coming school year.

We encourage families to contact your child’s teacher, our office staff, or me personally when you have questions or concerns about your child’s educational experience. We strive to ensure each student will have a positive and rewarding experience at East Evergreen Elementary.

Kindly,
Sherry Odegard
