East Evergreen Elementary School

Dear Parents and Students,

Welcome to East Evergreen Elementary. I am excited and honored to be serving as the Principal at East Elementary. This is my 5th year in the Evergreen School District.  I served as the Assistant Principal and Activities Director at Evergreen Junior High for two school years and I’m starting my third year as the East Elementary Principal. In my previous education experiences, I was a teacher and coach at Flathead High School, Columbia Falls High School, Hamilton District School and Cut Bank School District.  In those positions, I taught Social Studies and Health Enhancement, while coaching football, wrestling and track along the way.   I am looking forward to an exciting and rewarding school year in 2019-20 at East Elementary.

I pursued the principal job at East Elementary because I have seen firsthand the commitment of the Evergreen Staff and the passion the Evergreen Community has for the schools in our community. I truly believe that Evergreen Schools provide a positive nurturing safe place for kids to learn and develop each day. I am always amazed at the commitment of our teachers, para professionals, office staff and custodians to do what is best for all students and to make our schools great. I am proud to be associated with such dedicated professionals!

I encourage every parent to be highly involved in your child’s education. We love to see parents and community members being active in our school. One of the biggest predictors of student achievement is student attendance.  When your child is gone from school there are learning experiences that can’t be duplicated outside the classroom.  Please let the school know what we can do to ensure your child’s attendance at school. If you have an academic question or concern, please don’t hesitate to contact your child’s teacher, counselor, office staff or principal. The common goal we all have is your child’s wellbeing and success at school; socially, emotionally and academically!

Once again, welcome to East Evergreen Elementary School!  Let's make it a great year!

Respectfully,

Shaun Forrest
